Who let the dogs in?

It has come to my attention that one of Verizon's score of TV music listings is none other than Classic Rap.
Besides the obvious oxymoron, I never imagined something less than 30 years old could be classic anything.
What exactly are the criteria for "classic" rap? References to Courvoisier and knockin' boots? Everything recorded before that slim white boy from Detroit showed up?
Curiosity got the better of me and as I searched "classic rap" I came to find that it is all of the above and then some. Da playas: Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog, Coolio, LL Cool J, et al.
Nevertheless, despite my occasional desires to go insane in the membrane, I'll stick with crunk and raggaeton to get my funk on.
