There apparently is no end in sight for the Weiner the World Would Rather Not Have Known (hey, man, this stuff just falls into your lap).
Despite missing an opportunity to mention it last week, the flaccid case of New York congressman Anthony Weiner (aka Tony Penis) still manages a strong simmer in the near summer as a 17-year-old Delaware girl enters the scene.
I will forever remember his tearful admission of (some of his) transgressions to a packed hotel ballroom as that spectacular moment in American political history where technology and inept arrogance collided into political suicide.
Yes, I realize a Republican congressman immediately resigned after his stumbling, bumbling Craigslist message was quickly unmasked, but who can remember his name? Anyone?
Well, that's probably because he didn't spend a week lying to all who queried about his hobby, nor did he accuse someone else of a felony as the cause for the on-line curiosity.
Here it is:
When you fall from grace in these United States and if you honestly admit your failures, take full responsibility for your actions, you will be picked up off the ground, dusted off and told to 'get back out there.'
But God have mercy on your pathetic little carcass should you lie — much less blame someone else — for your {ahem} shortcomings. You will be crucified by the public ... and possibly given a prime-time show on CNN.
Now wouldn't that be a show: the Weiner Spitzer Hour.
Think of the ratings.
I mean, seriously, someone at CNN is screaming "Think of the ratings!"
What a putz.
Next.
