Pack a bong and a bag for the road

Spot the semi-talented bong brain.
So somehow I'm watching HLN (you know, the half-hour CNN product that used to be devoted to news) and Natasha Curry has Seth Rogen and some friend of his who survived cancer [not doppelgänger Jonah Hill in photo], perched on a couch to pitch Seth's new movie about a guy who has cancer and takes advantage of his condition to pick up girls.
I've always felt Rogen's humor to be chuckleable. I first saw him in a supporting role, playing an affable stoner in The 40-year-old Virgin; basically the same character he played as the lead in Knocked Up. So, in a nutshell, he makes millions by smoking dope in movies.
Following the cutesy bullshit that is the repulsive marketing of movies in the USA, the two fellas remain on Curry's loveseat as HLN switches to a video segment about an elderly Hispanic woman from California, who believed she had won a mega lottery after the Fresno Bee published the wrong winning numbers in their newspaper. The published numbers had already run the week previous.
The woman, who's husband died earlier this year, thought for hours that she had won millions, only to be heartbroken by the newspaper's error.
Seth and his buddy are laughing about the woman's plight, saying, "Oh, man and she lost her husband?," and Seth is laughing as he manages to suggest, "They should give her something."
Not only is this poor woman's story broadcast [inter?]nationally, she suffers further humiliation by being laughed at by a Hollywood millionaire and a soon-to-be Hollywood millionaire.
Rogen's mother is a social worker "and my dad works in non-profit organizations," he was once quoted as saying. "But they seem very radical in American terms, embracing a form of socialism that really doesn't even exist here. I mean, where I come from, communism is not a terrible word."
And evidently neither is mocking the poor and bereaved.
'Hey, Seth (maybe they should have named him Meth) you are sitting there on a couch in front of millions of Americans (oh, maybe it's because he's Canadian), you hear this heartbreaking story and your reaction IS TO LAUGH?'
This idiot's salary for "Green Hornet" (2011) was $6,000,000 [and it was a stinker]. You're telling me you can't get up off the couch, peel off three or four grand out of your pocket and say, "Now who can match me? I dare the Fresno Bee to match me and get this poor woman some relief!"
   Boom.
   Instant Hero Forever.
But no. He was probably thinking about the half of the a joint that he had to leave in the limo because he and his buddy had to drag their butts off his couch to end up on Curry's couch and talk crap into a camera.
Natasha Curry is, of course, no help. She just sits there all bubbly and giggly.
This makes me shake my head and think that it's excrement like this that provides timber for a deepening class war in this country.
I don't think it's going to be any '60s hippified movement that pushes this war either.
Currently there are a lot ... a lot ... of college-educated, middle class folks who used to have a job and now they don't have a job or anything on the horizon that looks like a living wage. They have lost or are losing their home, or their family.
Unfortunately, many of them also own guns.
