A Favre cry from what he used to be

   Losing your shirt on Brett Favre.
   I'll tell you, I am a Packer fan first and despite the legendary ironman quality and pure excitement he possesses as a player, Mr. Favre won only one Super Bowl in Green Bay.
   And although you can have a more storied 'modern day' franchise, the Green Bay Packers are a globally known entity despite likely being the "smallest market" for any U.S. professional team: it is the country's 153rd "most populous" metro area.
   But I digress.
   Since Brett has decided to play for a much hated divisional rival, the Minnesota Vikings (and inside a dome, for Christ's sake!), Packer fans will show no remorse in heartily [but not hatedly] booing the creaky gunslinger each time the two teams play. There won't be any death threats or crap thrown at Favre when he comes to Lambeau Field {but I think they'll be renaming a street that runs near the stadium}.
   The reason for this is because Packer fans are fans of the team, fans of the franchise — Green Bay is (after all) home to THE freaking frozen freaking tundra.
   Visitors to Lambeau Field will gleefully huddle together in sub-zero temperatures and face a howling wind, provided there's enough brats, beer, venison and schnapps to last a few brisk hours, because they are there packed in for the Packers — no one individual player.
   As for the Vikings: these shifty bastards just may be smart enough to use Favre, Rosenfels and Jackson throughout any game at the quarterback position. You certainly better have somebody throwing on the sidelines as long as that scruffy old Rebel remains one good hit away from being retired. {Perhaps someone on the Packer defense will assist him in that direction}.
   Besides, the success and thrill of Miami's wildcat attack finally has been given serious momentum of using more than one quarterback depending on the situation — a move that forces defenses to have to prepare more thoroughly.
   So we'll see.
   But for now, I have one less shirt to wear.
