"Yew Yankees are ideyotes"

    -- It was my daughter's 2.5 birthday on Sunday {hence the delay in this post because of celebratory events and related procurement of accoutrements} and the experience continues to enthrall and exhaust the child's mother (my adoring and lovely wife) and thou. --

  I need to add that South Carolina Representative to make a recent trio of outrageous behavior — such as the networks did — as he does appear the absolute dimmest of the group.
  Was the behavior of Serena and Kayne noted more in the media because of their race? I would like to say 'no' since they are both far more famous than Rep. Joe Wilson and maybe because one politician calling another politician a 'liar' isn't such an appalling act.
   But we should note that Mr. Wilson's heckle of President Obama during a health care sales pitch was truly rude an unacceptable: indeed it was close to Kanye's me-me-me move of briefly stealing the spotlight from those who had earned it.
  And unfortunately for Miss Williams and Mr. West, Rep. Wilson was not caught on camera (only his audio) and this being a visually driven globe kept the sullen tennis star and maladjusted rapper in the news loop much longer.
   [But somehow, Roger Federer's laid back, F-bomb laden laceration of a chair umpire didn't come out until three days after he lost the U.S. Open final. His penalty was much less than Serena's {but he didn't threaten to choke anybody with a ball} and I wonder if the delay of revealing the incident was because it was Federer or that he was white or that he was a man. Dunno. But we should have been hearing and seeing his act within the hour of it occurring not 72 hours later.]
   But back to Rep. Wilson. While much in his history does reveal that he just can't let go of the "War of Northern Aggression," I fear the media coverage may have turned him into a martyr of sorts (he's outpacing his next ballot foe in cash raised). But whether he's a racist or not (as somme have asserted) he's certainly a knuckle-dragging goombah.
   While serving in the South Carolina Senate he voted against removing the Confederate battle flag from fluttering above state house — apparently one of Wilson's dearest causes. The Senate voted 36-7 to yank the Rebel banner.
   Back In 2003, Wilson smeared Essie Mae Washington-Williams claiming the daughter of a black maid and the late Senator Strom Thurmond was lying and should keep her mouth shut about her heritage. Turns out Essie wasn't lying.
  So it seems possible that Serena and Kanye can fix their damaged personas with some anger management and therapy I'm not so sure about Joe. It's pretty tough to fix stupid.
