Money can't buy him love (or brains)

While not exactly Bernie Madoff material, it seems some finance director who 'made off' with more than $850,000 of his firm's cash to fuel his wife's lavish lifestyle has been sent to a UK slammer for four years.
Some witless Brit twit named Andrew Wetherall — a 49-year-old father of two — siphoned $863,135 from his accounting firm during a five-year span [oh, sure, they would never pay any attention to any funny business with the books].
Evidently he stole the money via repeated flight and expense claims for non-existent business trips in order to pay for cars and vacations because — despite his six-figure salary — when his wife's previous partner tried to reduce her "maintenance payments," he feared her lifestyle would be affected and she might leave him.
By the time he went to court he had repaid all the pilfered poundage to his company.
The weasel's defense attorney also splained "that the absence of Wetherall's wife in court was partly to avoid press attention, and should not be interpreted as her no longer supporting him."
Yeeeeeeeeeeeah ... I'm thinkin' she wouldn't wait four minutes much less four years for a now penniless ponce who'll be walking a just a bit more stiffly and be a little less interested in girls after his loooooong "stretch" (so to speak) behind bars with Brutus.
