New Year's Eve eve partial leave

From the I-Ching:
   Before the Beginning of Great Brilliance, there must first be Chaos
   Before a Brilliant person begins something great, they must look foolish to the crowd.

   I'm sure I'm not the first to think of this (and if you think of it all our thoughts are influenced heavily by others' thoughts combined with what one has already thought, so how original can one thought be?) but are we marching, racing, hurtling into a boiling caldron which will explode the Earth (through the combination of pollution, construction, nuclear events, climate devastation, Miley Cyrus) in a snapback of the [purported] Big Bang?
  Are we going through a big bang bounce? Whether you want to call it "God" or not, is the force of The Power Which Created This Planet now reverberating outward — building to an eventual implosion? And is man's role in this Galactical Play to provide the collision of technology with nature necessary to hasten the final curtain?
   Dunno; but it appears much of modern man's frustration is based upon what man has wrought through the progress of technology: the combustible engine, mass production, nuclear fission, television, Twitter.
   Ah, well, it's just a thought {and again, probably not an original one} — one of many thoughts rattling around in my noggin as the year ends.
   I'm going to be sharing fewer — but hopefully brighter — Gnus to Ewes thoughts in the coming year, publishing only on Sundays and perhaps luring in a guest blog or two.
   But if you're interested in a sort of Gnus to Ewes 'best of' or 'author favorites' of 2009, here's a handful:

   2) The dissolution of traditional media in favor of the unfettered, ethereal information explosion and how it's literally killing us.

   4) The myth of sunrise and sunset,
   5) Leaving West Virginia and entering Florida,
   6) Mindless expressions uttered by the media and other utterers,
